Alumni, now at the University of Edinburgh

Dr. Atoosa Kasirzadeh's work lies at the intersection of philosophy (and sociology) of science and technology, individual and group decision-making, and artificial intelligence. She wrote a mathematics PhD dissertation on the optimization of large-scale decision-making problems. Her second PhD dissertation in philosophy tackles the contribution of mathematics to the explanation of social and natural phenomena, and the implications of this contribution to specifying the scope of explanatory reasoning for AI. Atoosa is now Associate Professor at the University of Edinburgh.
